My Girlfriend Is Pregnant – What Do I Do?

You just found out your girlfriend is pregnant and neither of you planned this. What do you do? What can you say to her? You are not ready to parent a child. What say do you have in this? What are your options? And what if you disagree with your girlfriend’s decision?

The first thing you need to do is understand all of your unplanned pregnancy options. The easiest way to do this is to text one of our pregnancy counselors (yes, we know it’s not you who is pregnant!), who can walk you through each option and help you determine the pros and cons for your specific situation. This helps ensure you get complete, accurate information about your options, so you can be knowledgeable as you talk with your girlfriend.

One of the options that can be hard to learn about on your own is adoption. There is a lot of false information out there. There are also agencies who do not have the best interest of birth parents in mind. This is why finding the best local adoption consultant is critical. Lifeline Children’s Services was created for birth parents and is dedicated to lifetime support for birth fathers and mothers. You decide what family is right to raise your child from all the couples looking to adopt. You determine what type of open adoption is best for you.

Maybe your girlfriend told you she’s pregnant and considering adoption? You can walk through the process of gathering information together with a local pregnancy counselor. You do not have to do this alone.

Remember, you have time to make a decision. Do not let anyone rush you and your girlfriend. There are local pregnancy counselors in your area that are educated in the resources you need and the options you have. Even if you feel like you need a last minute adoption plan, it is important to take your time to understand all that is involved and figure out your priorities in adoption.
